I even saw a photo of donkeys coming through the tunnels from Egypt.

Folks who follow events in the Mideast already knew that the blockade was more about punishing Gazans for voting the wrong way in a free and fair election than fighting "terrorism". Here's how Pat Buchanan explained it when the blockade was first imposed:

The early returns are in. “Surgeons at Gaza’s biggest hospital,” says the Financial Times, “have suspended non-essential surgery for lack of sutures, laboratory kits and anesthetics.” Environmental protection agency workers have no money for petrol to monitor sewage and industrial waste entering the water supply. Some 150,000 civil servants, 60,000 of them armed security personnel, have gone unpaid for months.
Supermarkets have to extend credit to customers who have no money for food. The Washington Post relates an incident that gives a flavor of what is happening.
“In Gaza’s gold market Monday, Nahed al-Zayim stared at the wedding ring her husband, a Palestinian police officer, gave her six years ago. She had placed it on a glass counter offering it for sale, joining several other wives of public employees who had not been paid in two months.
“Her head covered by a black veil, Zayim said she needed the proceeds from her ring to buy diapers and milk supplements for her three children, including Hazem, 4, who tugged at her tunic in the afternoon bustle. ‘This is the last one, we have no more,’ Zayim, 28, said of her ring.”

As for Egypt - it depends on who is in power. a rival faction willl not support the palestinians. The current regime doesnt. the previous did.

Hamas is willing to stand up for Gazas freedom. Of course they were elected. In the West Bank you have total Isreali domination. That is not the "freedom" Gazans want, but obviously what they would get if they complied w/Isreal as the West Bank has done.
FWIW, i do not condone Hamas tactics. Im not a Hamas sympathizer.

This is their problem and the main reason I don't give a damn what happens to them. Same goes for the a-hole Israelis. Cut off the money to both sides and they would be forced to get along.

I have no sympathy for Gazans or their plight. They made that bed long ago. Now they get to lie in it.

You do know that Ron and Rand Paul don't think we should be Israel's lap dog, don't you?
EDIT: Bibi is taking a lot of heat at home for wasting the country's blood and treasure on a war that seems to have done nothing but make Israel more isolated without destroying Hamas.

So they are supposed to live in an open air prison unless they agree to Isreals demands, which we can see looks just like the west bank, where palestinains are treated as 2nd rate citizens and isreal restricts movement and access to basic services to ensure Isreali settlements recieve them first? Oh, and the settlement thing, so yeah - agree to peace so that Isreal can continue the land-grab becuase you are now unarmed.
Isreal doesnt want peace. Peace would mean they would have to give up their lopsided advantage over the west bank and gaza.

You're dumb. Egypt and Israel were at odds for years. A new regime was installed, Israel gave Egypt back the Sinai Peninsula in exchange for a peace treaty. Israel and Egypt have been cool ever since.
Israel has been trying to do the same thing with the so-called Palestinians for the last 14 years and every time they concede they get bit in the arse.
Let's be honest here, the best thing for the region is for Israel to wipe those people off the face of the earth.

That was a legitimate war fought by two states. Isreal likely has no interest in settling Sinai. Apples and Oranges.

response of a master debater no doubt. The last treaty was in 2012 i think it was that ended a war, Isreal met zero of the critera spelled out in the treaty, such as easing of the blockade with UN international monitors (which would normally be acceptable to anyone, if not an absolute requirement) at the crossing to inspect cargo, extending the fishing zone in the sea, and several others.
