I have read that he moves better in open field than anyone in CFB. Is he that good because of Big 10 competition or is he that good?

I just spoke recently with one of the Wisconsin assistant coaches. He said that, although Gordon wouldn't start at LSU, the kid has a lot of heart. Take that fwiw.

Averaged 7.8 yards a carry last year for 1609 yards. I don't care which Big 5 conference you're in, that's damn strong. He's legit.

He's a legit back, but he's more of a bounce it to the outside rather than up the middle type of back. Our defense is meant for that though. He'll be fed the ball a lot so he may see 100 yards by the end of the game.

He looks good. He'll make his yards in the middle, as I don't think the speed sweep will work against us (much).

Gordon is pretty smooth out there. He moves faster than he looks most times. UW fans feel his is probably our most talented back ever. His calling card has been the jet sweep. Be interested to see how he is used this year. The backup Corey Clement is a tough back- and might surprise folks outside of Wisconsin.

MG vs Arizona State

Here is his game vs Arizona State last year. Maybe a good preview for Saturday? ASU was 26th in rush D last year, LSU 35th. ASU is pretty fast and plays in a good league if you don't feel the B1G is any good.

nope. His middle running will get stuffed, and that sweep crap is not going anywhere.

He is really good. South Carolina's D was well-respected last year he went for 143 on 20-some carries vs the Cocks.

LSU probably be best D he's seen though.

what makes him different in my opinion, is when there is a hole, he typically is long-striding through it and it seems like the LB's and DB's get strange angles because he is at top-end speed at the line of scrimmage

this. if he does so happen to get into the secondary, our guys need to not take bad angles and bring him to the ground. seems like the kinda guy that can get lost in a crowd.

but that outside run game shouldn't do much because we have too much team speed to get beat outside. Oregon found that out the hard way.

be interested to see if Wisc runs the jet-sweep. some games they run it once and scrap it.

Not at good as the Wisky fans say. He has a solid habit of disappearing in big games, and racking up yards on Purdue and UMass

If he gets 100 yards its because he ran the ball 25 times. The RB is really good, but you have to keep in mind that they also run 6'6 and 321 across the front which can wear you down over time.

If he tries to run outside the tackles it is going to be a very long day for Wisconsin. He doesn't have the speed to consistently get the edge on our defense
