Ive heard not analog but I have to say I know nothing about them and am just starting my research. Have a commercial building I would like to put a couple or maybe three. Front door, gate, rear roll up door.

Ive seen footage lately from home security camera that are very focused which is what I want. Not sure if I need real time but really don't know. Anyone here familiar?

Also what about like game cameras? Which one of those to get?

Don't forget to turn them away from you before you masturbate.

I just put a 4 camera q-see system. Very clear very easy. Look for POE. Just one wire, up to about 300'. It came with 4 cameras and can add 4 more. Dont remember the memory but I have it recording all day and it holds around 7 days with the 4 cameras. I need to sit down and figure alerts.

The piper above looks good but can they be mounted outside? All of mine would be outside and several hundred feet from each other.

I'm looking at q see now.

Also I'm the fricking pool boy. If she would let me hire one I'd be glad to turn the camera away from the two of them as long as he waits until after he cleans the pool.

Bought a house with them but we don't monitor it. I sure as hell hope the old owners don't have access to that shite anymore. If so, they are getting a real show.

We have them at our clinic. The best feature is the smart phone access so we can see what is going on from our phones. Eliminates a lot of stress about what's going on when were not there.

The new 960H analog cameras are better than older analog and still cheap.

HD IMO is the way to go, unless you are good at networking than id go IP. The prices have really come down a bunch on HD. The DVRs are cheaper than the old analog boxes two years ago.

IP is the best but requires a little more trouble shooting skills. They do have a ton of plug and play boxes on the market right now but they are cheaper. You pay for what you get with these things.

Also the phone app is a big selling point. A more refined app from the more reputable companies makes a big difference.

I've played with them all. It really depends on if you want to DIY or pay somebody, and your budget. All the systems will be better than you have now, however a cheap pos will just force you to upgrade quicker.

Vmax Digital Watchdog. 500mb DVR is what I have. Have the app and it's own URL so I can watch from my phone and laptop.

TigerWise is the person you need to talk to.

Watching security cams via phone / IP I get. What I do not see is talk about alerting-on-motion. Thoughts / experiences?

I have my alert on motion turned off. I live on a pretty busy corner where there is a lot of car and foot traffic. My phone would be blowing up every 5 min. However, my settings are set to record on motion for all 3 cameras.

If you don't have a conventional security system as well, they'll just steal your camera equipment.
