Finished The Sopranos not too long ago. Looking for another HBO series to watch.

Would really like to pick up True Detective, but I have Amazon Prime and don't want to pay for it. Same with Boardwalk Empire. Seasons 2-4 are not on streaming.

I've already seen The Wire.

Six Feet Under

It's depressing, though. But the finale and the final scene are the greatest to ever air on tv.

Deadwood is okay. A lot of folks on here like it, but I didn't as much.

Treme is okay. It isn't anything amazing, but far below the two you listed.

Six Feet Under
That was around the time when HBO started rolling out all these series
It was right after Sex and the City and Sopranos
Changed TV forever

One of the best series I've ever watched, outside of one season when it dragged a little bit but the ending was one of the best. Plus you get the acting debut of Dwight Schrute before the Office.

Don't like Treme

With Six Feet Under you get one of the better series finales of all time.

Deadwood is better but you don't get a conclusion really.

I've only seen Deadwood of those three, but I watched it a few months ago and loved it. Some don't care for it though.

I will say that though I haven't seen 6FU, I did watch the final montage of the series finale, and it's pretty awesome. So I can imagine how great that would be after having invested time in the entire show.

Not Treme.

Personally I'd say Six Feet Under if I have to chose. FWIW, I enjoyed Deadwood too but as said Six Feet Under has arguably one of the best finales ever.

Each other series is fantastic. I would probably give a slight edge to Six Feet Under since it was great for longer.

Just started Deadwood on Sunday. I watched 8 episodes without stopping and I only stopped because I had to go get something to eat. It is incredible.

This is completely false.

Anyone who cares deeply about New Orleans and wants to see the struggles of post-Katrina on true New Orleanians will enjoy it. Anyone who enjoys television that plays like literature will also enjoy it.

Six Feet will be tough to Marathon. The cast is almost as equally repugnant as Sopranos.

Watch Deadwood first, then Six Feet. Skip Treme and don't be fooled by those 3 people who liked it.

True. I will say this...as awesome as Deadwood is, go into it expecting things to just sort of end, as opposed to getting things wrapped up in a nice, neat little bow. IIRC, it got cut and they didn't get a fourth season, but that was late so there wasn't some grand ending to the series. However, the flip side to that is that it's sort of historical, so that's basically the way things happened IRL. I just wish they'd have gotten to continue on, as the amount of directions they could've taken plots on the show were almost endless since the setting was so great.
