Big Woodrows in Houston - BAD HANG OUT SPOT

Please let me update those not only who reside in Houston, but ones traveling in from out of town for the game....Big Woodrows is not a good choice for several reasons. First of all, it is NO LONGER the LSU WATCH PARTY BAR location. I know I personally have been complaining about it for years. Next, it is outside of the 610 loop, about 6 miles from downtown/midtown, so if you are looking for something convenient and staying in the downtown area, it not close. Also, the food is probably the worst Ive had in Houston. Its so bad that when I would go there in the past for watch parties before the games, I would eat a large meal before heading to Big Woods. YES, ITS THAT BAD!
Do yourselves a favor and stay away from Big Woodrows. There are too many other nice bars and restaurants in Houston rather than that dump!
FYI...the new LSU ALumni watch parties are going to be at Christian's Tailgate in the Heights this season!

Never been to Big Woodrows but Christians Tailgate is awesome. Great burgers and food. Good atmosphere and TVs everywhere.

Yea our Hotel is only 1 mile from Woodys. No reason to stay away. 8$ Abita pitchers will be nice. Plus you sound like Woodys competition trying to steer people away

Sounds like what happened with Bens Half Yard House 10-15 years ago. Went from good to shite in the blink of an eye.

To me he sounds like a member of LSU Houston ALumni Chapter and wants to inform everyone that Big Wood's is no longer an LSU bar. And the new "official" bar is Christian's, which is better IMO.
Also seems a bit upset that new management kicked out the LSU fans. Understandably so, as I would no longer promote Big Wood's either.

This is what I don't get about some of our fans. People clamering for cheap abita pitchers. Why not try some good beers not available in LA, and listen to local music on road trips, instead of Travis Matte and the Chee wees
