Segregation? In my opinion things are as out of control and one sided now as they were during segregation. Eventually that issue was corrected and the pendulum obviously swung way in the other direction. Will another correction be made that will at least bring us back to the middle?

Disagree. In some situations, the reasons for segregation were REALLY stupid. For example, the belief that blacks shouldn't swim with whites because they carry diseases.

Depends on the area. The Ma Gulf Coast has very few race problems in day to day life

its really bad at the moment.

When blacks believes that we have an overwhelming issue with race, and many whites deny an issue, we have a real serious divide.

Its nothing like segregation though.

I loved the piece that suggested blacks in NOLA couldn't swim today because whites wouldn't let them swim 50 years ago.
Like the black population reversed evolution.

We are living in tough times. The economy isn't perfect, and good jobs can lure good people.

The rap star, thug culture has thumbed it's nose at the riches fought for by the black americans during the civil rights movement.

Kids dress and act like thugs, get rejected for one reason or another, then blame it on a racial divide that has all but been removed almost three decades ago.

By all rights, black Americans have an advantage when it comes to scholarships, grants, jobs, low interest loans, and housing. They just seem to find a way to screw it up. There should be an epidemic of upper to very upper class black families in this country. The fact that there isn't is not my problem. I was at work. I paid my taxes.
