TDBBL Preseason Discussion

Well it doesn't look like we are doing a redraft, but the tanking in this league seems to be the worst of any of these leagues. I propose something that might help with that: Determine the lottery based upon the consolation bracket. Winner gets first pick, runner up gets second, ect. This would make for an interesting post season for everyone, not just the playoff teams and could help prevent the all-out tank strategy that kills the competitiveness of the league.

Sounds good or best record of non playoff teams gets 1st pick and go down the line from there

That could work
What about a dynasty, where we keep our whole rosters and just hold a rookie/FA draft every year. It would minimize the pick trading and force owners to actually build teams in the traditional way that an NBA front office would.

I'm all in on the consolation bracket winner getting 1st pick. That will encourage everyone to try and keep a good team together and not sell for pennies.

My opinion has always been to restrict pick trading. This will make owners actually think strategically when trading.
I don't think consolation bracket effects tanking that much. People will still attempt to acquire as many picks as possible and still do the bullshite role player and 4th for a 3rd type deals.
Also, still think karma should get the boot for knowingly not setting his lineup for last 3 months of season.

i know everyone won't go for this, but we could let everyone keep 2 or 3 guys from their current rosters instead of the 5 and then hold a draft. everyone could still keep their same picks for this season. could be a happy medium

Naw.
Most of the tankers consolidated keepers while obtaining a plethora of early picks.
It's going to be so hard to create rule changes for this season that won't benefit last season's tankers while hurting the ones that competed.

I'm trying to figure out if I want to be in TDBBL or Toula's dynasty league. I doubt that I play in both.
ETA: It will probably depend on what format each league decides to adopt moving forward.

Who all tanked besides me?
I know i sold out early, but honestly once I realized I couldn't compete I got what I could to set myself up for this year. Every single one of you would have done the same. And I never once quit managing my team and playing the wire.
I basically donated $100. Think that gives you the right to better their pick situation and prospects for the next season. Why is everyone calling for changes now?
