We are staying at the Sheraton Brookhollow- it is about 10-15 miles from the stadium. I don't really know if the rail is available or if we should use a taxi. Wanted to see what others would recommend. Thanks!

If the hotel is accessible to main street downtown then you can use the rail, but if the hotel is not in downtown then you will need a taxi.

Hi. I am born and raised in Houston, and I still live hear. A diehard LSU fan, I am so excited that I'll get to see LSU play just 5 minutes from my house.

The Sheraton Brookhollow is farther than it seems on paper. It is not on the light rail system, and so you would ideally need to drive to the stadium.

The light rail basically is 7 miles north/south that starts in downtown on the north end, runs through the medical center/Hermann Park (our version of New Orleans' City Park) and then another few miles to NRG Stadium on the South end.

Thank You! I am seeing that they have a shuttle bus there but I don't know where it will take us. Going to get in touch with the hotel to see.

Being that it's an 8pm game and will be ending late, do need to worry about the railway shutting down for the night at any point?

True, but good luck getting home with anything other than your own car, and lord knows we need a bunch of drunk LSU fans driving around.

I have stayed there before. The shuttle only runs to Galleria and some other area north. A cab ride to midtown cost me about $40 if I remember right. I would try to move to a hotel downtown if possible.

If we drive, we will need a parking pass- right?!?! Or is there anywhere to park (even if we have to walk a couple miles) that you don't have to pay? I've looked at the map and do not see any areas but maybe I am missing something.

the northern extension to the other side of the loop is open now, but I don't think there are a lot of hotels that way.

Parking Info

You can buy a parking pass in Red/Green/Platinum for $50.

The Blue/Orange/Maroon/Yellow Lots will be $30 cash gameday parking.

There are also some paid lots and a garage North of the stadium and some lots south of 610 not affiliated with NRG (there is a crosswalk over the interstate) that will be cheaper but I'm not sure if it would be worth the price difference.

But does the rail run 24 hours? Game's late- might be after midnight by the time we get outta there.

Houston Metro-rail says they will run even later than their last scheduled departure from Relaint i.e. 1:40 am...to accommodate fans !
