What the difference in a Judge signing an order and the Clerk signing?

what kind of order? clerks can sign letters of administration or letters testamentary.

I'm not trying to get out of anything. The order in question isn't for me, I'm just trying to get clarification on it.

clerks sign those. They just appoint a person as executor of a will.

In order for LT to be signed, the judge must have already signed an order probating the will, which designated this person as the executor. You can contest the validity of the will, or if the executor does a bad job, seek to have them replaced.
