Just happened last night.

There is a high probability that a homeowner on California St. in Lafayette is black. A burglar on California St. is probably black also. No guarantees on either, just speculation based on knowing this area.

If the circumstances as reported turn out to be true, how much traction does this story gain.

quote:

The burglar then exited the home and the homeowner fired twice more. The burglar then ran into the backyard, and the homeowner went back inside to call police.

The burglar was pronounced dead at the scene.

Certainly, there may be much more to this story than the sparse information available at this point.

Burglar was probably starting college this week and just needed some money for books.

Uh oh....if the guy left the house before the shooting, the homeowner may have some legal trouble.

At least he or she is a good shot, and they are okay.

Tax payer relief shot. He should be able to take a deduction for his firearm and ammo.

So the owner was across the street, saw the burglar, got his gun, went over and entered his home, shot the burglar, burglar flees, owner shoots him again twice in the backyard.

Burglar was probably unarmed too.

I really, really like this story.
