Stevan Ridley - RB - Patriots
ESPN Boston does not have Stevan Ridley making the 53-man roster in their latest projection.
We'd be stunned if Ridley gets cut, as he's clearly the team's best inside running option provided he doesn't fumble. But the projection comes from ace beat man Mike Reiss, who is not prone to hyperbole. Ridley played just 11 snaps in Friday night's third preseason game, and did lose a fumble in the second preseason game. Reiss has the Patriots keeping four running backs on the active roster (Shane Vereen, James White, Brandon Bolden, Jonas Gray) and one on the practice squad (Roy Finch).

saaaaaay what?

Really??

I targeted Vereen in most of my drafts so this development is most welcomed.

I would guess that if Ridley does get cut, which would be a pretty interesting development, that White would have to be picked up...right?

Wonder where he ends up. He could end up being more valuable on the right team.

Thats why I say interesting development. If he ends up on a team where there is no real established guy, Dolphins, it could get very interesting.

Agree from a FF standpoint, Ridley getting cut and moving teams could actually be a positive in the long run.

looks like BJGE wont be making the cincy roster either. Jeremy Hill stock on the rise.

quote:

ESPN Bengals reporter Coley Harvey does not have BenJarvus Green-Ellis on his latest 53-man roster projection.
Green-Ellis sat out Sunday night's preseason game due to a hip injury of unknown severity. And with Rex Burkhead's knee injury not as severe as initially feared, BJGE is squarely on the bubble heading into the final preseason week. Final cuts are due Saturday. If Green-Ellis does end up released, it's a boon to the stock of Jeremy Hill.

Jonas gray hasn't been THAT impressive to knock him off the roster

Good call J. That would be a solid landing spot.

I think Arizona would be a good landing spot. They don't want to use Ellington as an every down RB. That would be a legit duo.

Kinda ironic. He's just the type of guy Belichek would go after if he was cut by another team.

If this holds true I'm going to feel so shitty for keeping Joique over Vereen. Vereen's health is still a factor tho.
