In the US(population wise)? I mean it already is large but with it's generous city limits coupled with great weather and strong commerce I think it could be.

You could say the same thing about Welsh too

you mean chronic drought, mudslides, and brushfires? The temperature's usually pretty nice, but LA has its own weather issues.
It's almost always about the economy, anyway. People like a pleasant climate, but they'll alway go where the money is. See: North Dakota.

No.
There are quite a few cities between LA and Houston for that matter. And this one small town up in the NE.

No Houston is a big city regardless of weather.

No way. NYC (20 mil) and LA's (16 mil) metro area populations are so much bigger than Chicago's (9.5 mil) and Houston's (6 mil).
That is a really big difference between the top two and the next two. IDK if anything could help make that up.

Would it matter? I mean is there some sort of prize they hand out to each citizen if they live in the largest city?

I think weather has little to do with it. Chicago weather sucks and it's larger than Houston (for now).

It's already going to pass up Chicago soon for #3, but no.
Although if anywhere could, Houston for sure. Most major cities have no room to expand, Houston has plenty

As someone who grew up in Houston and lives in Chicago, I have to say I prefer Chicago's weather out if all the places I've lived.
I would much rather have maybe 10 days above 85 and layer up in the winters than to be sweating my arse off 6 months a year

LA is overrated as frick. It's just basically a giant Baton Rouge with even worse traffic and fake and snobbish people everywhere. If it didn't have the beaches and beautiful scenery in the background and the aforementioned weather, it wouldn't be worth a shite as a place to visit.

Weather only matters to old people that are retiring when choosing where to live

Yeah, but that is Galveston, where the beach is a lot like those in Mississippi.

The further east you get away from the Mississippi River, the clearer and bluer the beaches and the water are. It has to do with mud and other things like it.
