Watching Addams Family Values now. Always loved these movies. Raul Julia is perfect. Angelica Houston is sexy as hell. All that great dark humor in a family friendly movie.

It doesn't get much better when we're talking TV to movie. Not many get it as "right" as Addams Family did.

The ones that do it right are the ones that are an homage and parody of the original show at the same time.

21 Jump Street
Addams Family
Brady Bunch

21 and 22 Jump Street are great too. I've seen both Addams Family movies a bunch of times over the past 20 years and I can still watch them whenever they're on. I don't know if 21 Jump Street will hold up that well over time.

Not a fan, but I agree with 21 Jump Street

I thought the recent A-Team movie was pretty good.

The first Flintstones movie was decent.

The Mission:Impossible franchise is pretty good

Monty Python and the Holy Grail may win if it counts.

Naked Gun also deserves a mention.

I'd have to go with the A-Team as well. That stayed pretty true to the theme of the old tv show (minus the 80s campiness), and I thought it was very entertaining.

I'm going to have to disagree with 21 Jump Street though. Not the it isn't an entertaining movie or anything, because it is a good movie in its own right. But the movie had a completely different feel than the tv show. The movie was a funny, light hearted comedy that focused on the antics of a comedic duo. while the tv show was a serious drama that focused on serious issues and involved a group of main characters. The only thing that the two shared was the title.

ETA: Good call on Naked Gun. It definitely stayed true to the original tv show, even using a lot of the same actors.

speaking of staying true to a TV show, I think Get Smart did a pretty good job of that.

I'm mainly judging based on the movie alone, not how true it is to the tv show. The MI tv show was more of a team affair, while the movies are mostly Tom Cruise with a little help every now and then. The movies are still pretty good but not that true to the show.

Agree with what you said, but based on the original question , I'd say Mission Imp.

But I could be wrong.....

I've heard that In the Heat of the Night was very good as a tv show and movie.. although I can't really watch that movie more than once like I can the Addams Family.
