Last week /Film reported that, in an effort to drive fans to Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, the first teaser trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s Hateful Eight would only appear in theaters. That’s no longer the case. An apparently bootlegged version (though The Wire suggests the “bootlegged” part might have been faked by the studio itself) has leaked online, and it’s available to watch on YouTube.

The movie hasn’t even started filming yet, but the teaser still manages to fill out more than a minute with blood-streaked, animated title cards, which introduce each of the eight title characters. The tone suggests that the movie will be another modern update on the spaghetti Western

Is QT gonna throw a hissy fit and threaten not to make the movie again?

I'm glad Quentin decided to start getting into the western genre.

Pretty stoked for this movie.

I wish he would have gone with the original plan of having Christoph Waltz though. Dude's an oscar waiting to happen in every movie.

he would have just ended up playing Hans Landa again. not knocking Waltz, I just think QT can only write him one way

We only have one sample to go off of, but I think he would've been the same because he is everything Tarantino wants in a character. Waltz is perfect for 10 dollar words and clever quips, as well as deliberate enunciation.

His movies are all the same to me now. I suppose they always were, but I'm just not as into it as I once was.

I watched the teaser last night while viewing Sin City 2.

I'm excited to see it.
