Until a team in that conference consistently wins titles and beats SEC in head to heads (bottom vs top games excluded) then I all the BS about them being better needs to stop now! LSU,AUB,Bama,UGA, and USCe are better teams than all 5 of the top PAC teams. Period! The media appears to be driving this and its all based on returning QBs which is about as flacky as I have seen as premise to deem the PAC better! SEC has good QB play, great coaching, great tradition, great athletes, great defensive play, even greater support from fans. There should be no debate on this. Closing the gap does not mean better!

There is 1 team in that conference good enough to win it all when they are good and that is USC.

The rest just have to pray for a rose bowl berth.

They ere doing that to steer potential voters towards spreading out the top 4 teams at the end of the year.

ESPN appears to be driving the short bus on this and a few writers on the internet trying to draw readers. GGame day had open debate this morning and it really made stomachs turn. No logic whatsoever! All based on QBs who only faced one good defense last year and that was Stanford! Who is still the overall class if the conference until or if another team steps up. Oregon has proven at least twice that they can't beat an SEC ranked team, so this whole bit by some dumbarce writers should be short lived!

What's the only conference that doesn't have one of these?

... And the one they got vacated was suspect because they should have had to beat Auburn to get it!

West-coasters have a huge inferiority complex when it comes to southern football.

Their best program as of late, Stanford, even plays SEC style football.

Hell, LSU prolly play's them more often than any other southern team and they haven't lost to a PAC team since USC in 1979, 35 years.

Win something, then talk.

First this

then
quote:

SEC has good QB play

lulz.
quote:

UGA, and USCe are better teams than all 5 of the top PAC teams.

. Okay
quote:

even greater support from fans.

Yep. This really impacts preseason predictions.

Yep. USC never played "SEC style football".

Play 9 conference games, then talk. What are we afraid of? Mighty nice playing an FCS school in late November when the Pac-12 schools are all playing conference games.

They did, too bad they couldn't keep their nose clean to play some of the SEC's best during their heyday. And no, Arkansas and Auburn don't count.

Since when have the top SEC teams not played 9 conference games? The SEC, unlike the PAC-congrats on finally balling up there, has had a title game for quite awhile now.

And take that LSU logo off you U$C apologist.

two SEC teams play 9 conf games every year while 12 Pac 12 teams play 9 conf games every year while two play 10? Solid counter.

You're right. It's completely USC's fault that Reggie Bush's parents were doing shady shite. That never happens in our conference, right? Ever heard of Cecil Newton?

SC should have played Florida for the 2008 title instead of OU. Would have likely been one of the best title games in the BCS era. OU did not deserve to be in over USC. I'm an LSU fan and alum but I'm sorry for misplacing my blinders

Consistent wins vs the sec. national championships. Then maybe their argument will have some validity.

9 conference games means absolutely nothing when the sec always has a harder sos, better ooc record and bowl record. that crap is something made up by the media to influence impressionable fans. it apparently worked on you

An extra conference game means Pac 12 teams will likely have an extra loss. Unless it's a UF vs GA Southern or Ole Miss vs James Madison exception, the FCS game is an extra win, therefore increasing the win % of each SEC team.

But hey, don't let things like math get in your way of fighting the evil sunshine pumping pac 12 media.

the math is simple. sec teams have stronger sos meaning they play tougher schedules regardless of the conference schedule configuration.

quote:

An extra conference game means Pac 12 teams will likely have an extra loss
given the weaker sos for those teams, it means they're not as good as the sec teams. the best sec teams win more despite having a harder sos.

quote:

therefore increasing the win % of each SEC team
the win % increases because they win more even with a harder sos.

this argument isn't going to work for you no matter how you word it.
