Upgrading 2011 F250 audio

They will sound better but not as good as they could sound with a proper amp powering them.

I dont plan on spending the money on buying nor installing an amp. I went with the Alpines for up front, Infinity tweeters, and Rockford for the back.

All in all, it cost me under $200 and anything would be better than these worn out POS paper speakers.

Purchased all from Amazon yesterday. All was prime except the new wiring harnesses. So, it will either be Wednesday or next Saturday till I get everything plugged in.

When I get back to my computer, I'll post a link of all items purchased. The stock speakers were 4 ohm and so are the replacements too.

That wiring harness you link says it for 1999 to 2010 Fords

Is that the right harness for your truck?

I believe that the correct years should be 1999 to current F250s. I do not know that for sure though. The connectors looked identical to what I currently have (I have the passenger speaker sitting next to me). If this is not the correct harness, I will update to help others.

This is the one that I picked up last week. Found it in Texas with only 50k miles on it and in immaculate shape. Then I found out the extra day that I was being promoted and my driving would increase 10x on some days. My company pays milage at a flat rate and it will cover the diesel and oil but I'm trying to decide if this is the right truck for that

You can get 18 easy on the highway.

Truck will average 16-18 combined w/o trying.


Change the fuel filter (easy) and have the dealer check the coolant (they use a special strip).

There is a easy mod to do for wind noise around the door seals. I have extra material for this that you can have if you want it.

Solid truck, no issues.

I just rolled over 52k on this one. Still have 2 years of warranty or 48k miles left. I have a BIL that is a diesel mechanic but hes been in NY since I bought the truck. I will get him to look it over and do compression test to see what were working with.

I was getting 20 MPG running 75 MPH on the way home from Texas, using computer not hand. My new locations are in NOLA and Laffy, but close to the interstate so Im happy. I will not be tuning nor deleting till warranty runs out. BIL has the tuner and tunes to do so and will hold it for me till then.

Fuel filters were changed along with oil before buying. They even changed the filter under the hood. I will be using Motorcraft oil and filters every 5k. Fuel filter will be changed every 10k and water separator checked/drained once a month.

The only big mod that I want to do right now is replace the front and rear springs with progressive springs. I don't tow heavy often and smooth ride is more important than ever. I am looking at getting the Carli Commuter 2.5" Series with full leafs. Stock tires are more than fine for me.

I havent actually noticed that wind noise is present. I will pay attention and look into it. If I do decide to change it, I will get back in touch.

I know that those intervals are overkill but cheap insurance. I'm doing some research on how to keep my CP3 alive now. They are $1200 new but can cost over 10k if they fail. I want to start using some kind of additive that adds lubricant to this low sulphur diesel.

I may even replace the stock CP3 at 100k miles.
