Seriously?

Big Brother is a wretched hive of scum and villainy and signifies everything wrong with America.

Not the show itself, but you get a good glimpse into the intelligence of Americans today by watching that and other reality shows. Shows how far we have regressed as a people. America is doomed.

This is the complete antithesis of your amazing Expendables post when the first film came out.

ETA I'm sorry. That wasn't you. Makes sense it wasn't you. Boom.

Here's the thread I was referring to: LINK

It's an annual thread. You should probably find something relevant to complain about instead of sounding like some some hipster douchebag.

Movie/TV board. You read that and clicked the link. What else were you expecting here?

Now go drink your pbr and tell everyone how cool you are.

Anyone that watches Big Brother or any show on MTV automatically loses a bit of my respect.

I watch big brother.. It provides a snapshot of the depravity of the human race... Insert anyone into that house and you'll see their sin exposed on national TV.

You might have thought that because it’s 2014, we would have reached a low point for reality television somewhere along the line. That may have been true before today. But now, there is “Sex Box.”

quote:

Couples go into a soundproof box without cameras. They have sex. Then, they have a frank and honest discussion about what just happened with a group of therapists and sex experts — in front of the studio audience.

Compared to this, Big Brother is the ultimate high brow show!

I can't tell you how many times I've had that exact same thought when coming to this board.

In my experience, the people who do the most bitching about the "state of America" usually can be found "advancing society" by wearing crocs, cargo shorts, camo visors, sitting around a pot of jambalaya.

I haven't watched the show since the first one, wonder whatever happened to Eddie the one-legged guy?

I think I will go google him

Well, that description advances society WAY further than the complaint in the OP so I'm not sure of your point

TBH, I'm more concerned with a bunch of grown men having a 200 page discussion on DragonBall Z.

It honestly does. The best an insightful, intelligent, stirring movie can hope for is maybe 3-4 pages. A good thriller (granted, they're rare)? Maybe 8.

It's pitiful. When I go home, I am saddened to see that my mother and sister waste away half their days watching shows like Amish something-or-other, Married at First Sight, Big Brother, etc.

ETA: I've thought of starting this or a similar thread many times, but I always decided it's not really worth it. It'd be like me trying to convince my sister to stop watching Amish Wars (or whatever it's called). Futile.
