Quick weekend gataway recs.

Leaving town next week for a month and am looking for something to do this weekend with the wife. Looking for any and all recs whether it's the typical weekend getaway or something that happens to be going on this weekend, say in Nola.
Also, we have a dog so places we can bring him would be great but we can board him if necessary.

Considered it but the places we found that allow dogs are either off the beach or are crappy. Still looking there though.
