Trivia - What is the SECOND bloodiest day in American history?

Most people know that the Battle of Antietam (September 17, 1862) was the bloodiest day in American history with more than 23,000 Americans either killed, wounded, captured or listed as missing.
But do you know the second bloodiest day in American history?

Was it a natural disaster of some sort? Though that may not count as "bloody." As for battles, no idea. Gettysburg sounds like an answer, maybe Shiloh. Those were multi-day battles though I think.
