With all the talk about utilizing our TE's in the passing game (of which I am a proponent FWIW). How many college teams REALLY utilize their TE's in the passing game ? Tyler Eifert of Notre Dame comes to mind. But as far as a focal point like Jimmy Graham, Antonio Gates, Gronk. Can you think of any recent college teams where the TE is a focal point ?

Nick O'Leary was used a good bit last year. Auburn has in the past with Lutzenkirken and Anthony Mix

The last TE LSU really used was Robert Royal or Dickson.

Looking at Wisconsin highlights, they seem to use them.

Desean Smith is gonna be pimp this year. We will need him step up with lack of experience at WR.

Even those guys were never a focal point though.
Miami Kellen Winslow maybe.

The ramapant use of TE to the extent we see in the NFL now a days is sort of new. I mean there were always great ones, but none were focal points as they are now with Graham and Gronk.

Tight ends are an inexperienced QBs best friend. That said we won't use ours.
