The programming pom-pom wavers at CBS and ESPN don’t want to hear it. Paul Finebaum’s collection of crazies doesn’t want to hear it. The “SEC! SEC! SEC!” chanters don’t want to hear it.

But hear this: The Pac-12 should be the premier conference in college football in 2014. To quote Jim Morrison, the West is the best.

frick you Pat Forde.

They still need to recruit better out there. It's the players.

Congrats on increasing traffic to their site, exactly what they intended with the bold headline.

We've heard this before but until they get the combination of speed and physicality across the conference, nothing has changed. They are the no.2 conference IMO but still a gap between 1 and 2.

I just saw an article about ACC where they had more NFL draft picks in top 4 round than SEC, and all the teams in the ACC with a winning record.

It will be harder for SEC to win that many in a row because having to play 2 games will be more difficult no matter who the opponents are especially without a long break between the 2 games. And you can bet the committee will try and get as many conference champs in there as long as they are worthy. It will be rare SEC gets 2 teams unless other conferences have multiple loss champs and sec has an outlier like Bama back in 2011

UVA and NC State play in the ACC still so I know at least two teams had losing records. Jeez, doesn't Wake still live in the ACC?

And I just looked at the ACC site...40+ players taken in the draft, 26 on the last day. It might be the top heaviest conf currently and other than FSU, not another team w/ a legit shot at the playoff this year.

They play each other?

I thought LSU was playing Alabama.

Never knew it was just coach v. coach

This is the one year I think the PAC12 [from top to bottom] could give the SEC a real run for it's money.

Yeah. They want it to happen so bad. Ain't gonna be this year, though.

So "Washington will be better coached this year" under Peterson (implying he is better than Sarkesian) yet USC will also take a step up under this same coach who isn't as good as the Boise St Boy Wonder? Come on, man!
