Is there an article on CNN.com of the evidence that the Ferguson cop was beaten?

I am assuming there is, but I can't find it.

I just want to see how they spin it.

No idea. I haven't watched CNN in years. My mindset doesn't for their agenda.

The report of this so far comes from an unnamed source who spoke to Fox. Maybe it happened, but at this point it hardly qualifies as evidence. Let's see a picture of the guy, or a medical report. One side is as guilty of jumping to conclusions that fit their preconceptions as the other.

What side has Fox aligned themselves with?

All their articles seem to be dry and fact-based. Seems like they are letting this play out, instead of trying to steer it.

Teh report originated on gatewaypundit.com. One of the right wing blogs with the worst track record for spreading lies and misinformation.

Fox News and ABC are the only 2 major news orgs I've seen mention it, and neither really gave much info other than unnamed source.

Except there's no proof except what some anonymous person says. Let's see some confirmation. If the officer has those kinds of injuries, a simple photograph of his face would suffice to prove it. Why haven't we seen it? Again, maybe it did happen, but there's no more evidence of it at this point than there is of the other side's claims about what happened to Brown.

I have been somewhat sceptical of the broken eye socket story. It seems the police department would have released that information early on to get another side of the story out. I can understand why they don't release pictures, to protect the identity of the officer. If in fact the officer was punched I hope they have photos of his face.

They didnt release the pictures of George Zimmermans broken nose and bloody head for a couple of weeks either. People need to let the evidence be investigated and presented in a responsible manner. I swear, these protestors wanted the jury, trial and execution all in the same day. These things take time. If this cop indeed have his eye socket broken, it will eventually be released. Let it play out.

I agree, but one side is accepting as gospel an unnamed source as proof that it did happen (it was referred to as "evidence" upthread,") just like the other side is accepting as gospel the reports of "eyewitnesses" that something else happened. Neither side really knows, and both sides are falling into the Confirmation Bias trap.

i just watched a segment about the defense of wilson with 2 laweyrs (1 of which was "all in" on convicting zimmerman), that was pretty bad for the "michael brown" side

An anonymous source is "dry and fact based"?

The public at large is just ignorant to how investigations are supposed to take place. Releasing key information prior to interviewing all the witnesses will make people change their stories to fit the facts. The more I read about this, the less fault I find with the local police actions. I understand they have some bad history that is likely playing a part in this, but they way they were handling this case was proper, IMO.

Witness accounts are not proof?

Is the investigation ongoing?

Is it uncommon to not release evidence to the media of an ongoing investigation?

yes

and just so everyone knows, there are eyewitnesses who are giving stories that cannot be factually true, but they believe 100% that they are being honest about their recollection. memories of people with great memories and intelligence are shite. these are mostly people outside of that elite status

memories are easily manipulated

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the proposed story line that the cop reached out the window, grabbed the 6'4" 300lb man by the neck and pulled him into the patrol vehicle.

The news departments know who the source is. They claim it's someone inside the police department. If the police department lied about a completely disprovable fact this city would completely errupt, again. I'm willing to bet the news channels have already seen the photos.

That's being pretty trusting of the MSM. Uncharacteristic for the Poliboard.
