The Sony alpha SLRs are great for non-camera geeks. Easy to learn and take great pictures.

Nikon and Canon obviously make great dSLRs. But Sony is really something to consider for the non-pro.

Most wives want a fully loaded SLR, but then shoot everything in auto mode.

Point and shoot?

Mirrorless?

DSLR?

You need to be more specific.

That is probably what happens most of the time. If you don't know what exactly you want just get a P+S.

Not sure what mirrorless and dslr are. Care to give me info? Point and shoot seems pretty self explanatory.

Heading to Europe next month. I bought a Cannon Powershot A . Excellent point and shoot with way more features than I'll ever use.
