Anybody have any experience doing this? According to the app fare quote it will only be about $30 max. Are these typically accurate quotes? That seems a little too good to be true.

I've been given bad reviews from drivers for having long trips out of the city. This was in DC though. If they're taking you out to an airport, I don't think they mind.

Even for that distance?

Do they know when they pick me up where I'm going roughly? I'd hate to have to spring that on a guy who was thinking I'm just going down the street.

Fwiw I'm not going to an airport. It's the other side of a big arse city.

Uber suspended my account and I couldn't request rides. When I contacted them, they told me it's what they do if you are given consecutive bad reviews.

I had no idea why I was given a bad review, and they told me it was basically because my ride was out to suburban Maryland from DC, which the drivers assured me wasn't an issue. I guess he got pissed that he couldn't quickly pick someone else up out there.

That's when I stopped using Uber. This was over a year ago, hopefully it has changed.

You probably shouldn't have a problem then.

Yeah, I think it's pretty annoying. I mean, I understand because a lot of people call for rides when they're hammered, but to me that's just part of being a driver. It is expected.

Sweet. Does the fare quote thing account for traffic?

Yes they do and drivers can choose wether or not to pick people up. I mean if you were a driver wouldn't you want to avoid the drunk a-hole that cranks your radio and pukes in your car?

On each of your rides, what was your top like?

If you went somewhere that took a while and tipped $5 or less then I don't blame them for saying screw you

If you're going to major landmarks like the airport or another city, it's usually a flat fare.
