Celtic/Rangers and the Premier League

(Assuming full strength/regular Rangers)
Where would these teams finish in the PL? Would they even stay there?
I honestly don't know. Always finish from 15-8 with a few outliers maybe?

Celtic would get drubbed every game, but then appeal to the FA to stay in the Prem because of a technicality.

10 years ago, Celtic would have been competitive. But their ownership doesn't care anymore. They needed Rangers. Now, they have no motivation. They can destroy the shitty league without even trying.

Celtic would be relegated.
Rangers would be middle of the table.

It's quite a hypothetical since just being the EPL and getting all that money would change so much.
The most likely thing is probably that would be similar to clubs like Everton or Aston Villa, that is traditional clubs that can't quite spend with the third world oligarchs and where they finish depends on better or worse management.
However, I think Celtic would be a true sleeping giant considering the EPL's ever increasing aggressive marketing outside of England.
I think investors would be fighting to buy the club. Living in NY, one realizes that Celtic's already a pretty equal fan/TV draw to any of the top EPL clubs.

Mid-table. With investment, 4-6.

Celtic in a 1-1 dogfight late on against Maribor right now in their CL qualifier. Granted, they are away.

And fighting injuries (three players out of position). And playing a different formation than we played at the weekend. And we should have at least three goals. And got two stonewallers denied by a really bad ref (both sides).
A score-draw in a playoff match away from home is good. It's better than Arsenal got...

You don't think playing in the EPL would be motivation?

Good point though. But Celtic isn't appealing to the Premier League these days. It used to be the case that many people hoped something could be worked out.

After liquidation/administration, I would have applied to get into the English pyramid.

If Sky starts losing money/interest on the EPL, we'll become attractive again. Discussion will be moot anyway if Scotland votes "yes."
Also, people seem to be forgetting that a ton of ex-Celtic players (and many of them weren't good enough for Celtic) play in the EPL and top of the Championship. And the good ones, if we were in the EPL, wouldn't have been sold, or would have been sold for much, much more.

They would be like promoted sides, more QPR than Burnley however as with their stadiums and the increase in tv money they would have the chance to take a chance and spend big.
At the end of the day their players are being bought and sold to Championship level teams. It would need a gamble, as their whole squad would need turning over, however if they could last 2 or 3 years, the investment potential COULD mean they would be successes.

In terms of long term success in the EPL, I think people may be underestimating how huge a name Celtic would be in terms of worldwide marketing, with their history, fan base and immense appeal in the US.
I think many investors (like what Pallotta is trying to do with AS Roma) would try to buy them and turn them into a consistent top of the table EPL side.

I'd like to see Celtic in the Prem, Motherwell, Dundee United in the Championship, and Rangers/Hearts/Hibs League 1. Turn the SPL into the Welsh or Irish League.

don't both sell a bunch of tickets? i feel like both would be making cake, get sold to some rich arab/russian hybrids, and compete for the epl and champions league often.
