How can you serve Chicken Sausage Jambalaya with no sausage. I swear it was 92% rice, 7% chicken and 1% sausage. The only piece of sausage wasnt even a whole piece. I'm officially done with this place. The one on Old Hammond is probably the best one.

good idea to come and complain to an internet forum instead of complaining to the manager of the establishment.

Isn't this the one that was damaged when the timeout lounge burned down and is now a empty lot?

I have never been a big fan of downtown Jamba shop. I would go to Main St Market and get friend greasy chicken before going there when I worked at the Capitol. I went maybe 1 time in 3 years and that was because I had a gift certificate.

Exact same experience from the one in Hammond Aire last week... I think that is just the way the do it and it is terrible.

None of them are good. What they serve is an insult to the word jambalaya.

Why doesn't someone take Stadium Rat's Calculator and Pochejr's (sp) Gonzales Recipe and start a Jambalaya place of their own.

Most everyone agrees that this is some of the most authentic they've tasted and the people of Louisiana would eat it up.

Or would this not be profitable due to using more meat and proper ingredients hence why places in LA (seem, I've never been) skimp on meat.

Have you seen the price of sausage lately... he's just trying to maximize his profits. 30 pounds of rice is the same price as 3 pounds of sausage.

They've re-opened in the Hammond Aire shopping center, next door to Roman's.

I've been to the new one in Hammond Air twice recently. The first time was terrible: I order pastalaya and get normal rice jambalaya with maybe a half a piece of sausage (and it was small I could barely notice).

Second time: I got what I ordered and there was plenty of meat, including sausage but still mostly chicken.

I get just a bowl with ice water, so it's a decent value.

Why don't you just make your own?

It's so simple to make.

That Main Street parking garage downtown is a bad spot for food. Jambalaya Shoppe ain't no good, the shite at Serop's is always dried out from the heat lamps and the only thing that isn't way overpriced or mediocre at the Main Street Market is Fresh Junkie. No wonder the food trucks were killing it downtown.

Yes, but they moved into Hammond Aire Shopping Center across the street.

So true. But whoever said they don't understand the love the place gets? I've never seen or heard any love

It's basically the only place in Baton Rouge where you can get an ok jambalaya any day of the week. The Hammond Aire one is great because they're also open on Saturdays and at dinner time. Is it the best jambalaya ever? Heck, no. But for mass produced, convenient, daily jambalaya, it satisfies the craving in a pinch.

I make jambalaya at least every 2-3 weeks, sometimes once a week.

I don't think I have purchased jambalaya that someone else has made in 5 years.

It's never as good as I make it, or as I like it.

Sometimes I use just sausage, sometimes just shrimp, sometimes just chicken, sometimes 2 of those, and sometimes, when I'm feeling crazeee (or I have guests coming over), all 3.

Just make your own- problem solved.
