Frank Wilson: Jamal ADAMS is monster

I watched alot of film on this kid and what it showed me that this kid has closing speed and will be lights out at the college level, look at Frank Wilson had to say.
* There’s been plenty of talk about LSU’s highly touted freshman class. It’s centered on running back Leonard Fournette, who Tigers coach Les Miles mentioned in the same breath as Michael Jordan, but wide receiver Malachi Dupre and quarterback Brandon Harris have also drawn rave reviews. Watch out for another freshman: ever-confident and outspoken strong safety Jamal Adams. He’s already drawing NFL All-Pro comparisons from Tigers running back coach Frank Wilson.
“He’s every bit of what Eric Berry, Tyrann Mathieu, Patrick Peterson and Eric Reid were,” Wilson said. “He’s a freaking animal. He’s in the league with those guys at this time of his career. He may be the steal of the class.”
Wilson would know. He recruited Mathieu to LSU and also watched Peterson and Reid in recent years. “This kid’s got first round all over him,” Wilson said of Adams. “He’s that legit.”
A heralded recruit from the Dallas area, the 6-0, 206-pound Adams has an NFL pedigree. His father, George, had a six-year career in the league and was a first-round pick in 1985. His godfather is former Kentucky coach Joker Phillips.
“He’s just a freakish athlete,” Wilson said of Adams. “He just oozes with confidence. He’s very vocal on the field in a positive manner. The leadership skills, the toughness. When you bark that stuff out, you better be a real dude and make a play and he can.”
If Adams doesn’t start at strong safety, he’s sure to be part of their nickel and dime packages. He’ll also be a kick returner, just like Mathieu. Wilson keeps seeing identical characteristics in the two.
“The same mannerisms, the same leadership, the same playmaking abilities,” Wilson said. “It’s the same kid all over again.”

He's gonna be special. Adams may not be getting as much attention as the offensive guys, but he'll definitely have an impact this year. Can't wait to see him in action!

I love that Adams is looking so great and is getting alpha respect but if this kid has Honey Badger prowess at his size then he will rewrite record books on Saturdays and Sundays. Because Frank knows what he is talking about I am sure that he has the physical abilities that Tyrann has but if he has those intangibles then Jamal has a bright future ahead of him indeed.
I am damned happy that we got him instead of hootie and I wouldn't be too shocked to see him have a better career than Brown. We are damned lucky to get this guy.

I wish I was hearing the same things about Clifton garret. We need some one like that in the middle of the field.

I remember first seeing his video, after that, I didn't care where Hootie went. Hootie was more of a star power guy to me, Adams seemed like a straight dog. He's definitely going to be in the mix a lot this year. This season reminds me so much of 2010, it's ridiculous! If we can get good play from our QBs, hang it up!.

Yeah, Tyrann playing on D was like playing with an extra man on defense. He was everywhere and he was there to mess everything up before it even happened. It's extremely high praise to be compared to him. If this dude is anything like him, then LSU's D will go to the next level.

It sure does look like the Chief will be calling much more aggressive schemes this year and that adds up to one or both of the safeties stepping up close to the LBs and focusing more on run support and covering guys that the LBs might have had to worry about last year due to the safeties backing up the CBs in coverage.

Damn, I can't help but get excited about our future. I don't think a lot of casual LSU fans realize how good this team is gonna be this year....and the NEXT 3!!!! Just think that the 2015 team can potentially be even better than 2011! Whaaaat?! Rashard Robinson, Tre'Davious White, Jamal Adams, Jalen Mills, Ed Paris, Kendal Beckwith, Clifton Garrett, Greg Gilmore, Travonte Valentine, Tashawn Bower, Maquedius Bain, Frank Herron..just to name a few. How are you supposed to score on that? Haha.

Knew this Adams was good, but he's already exceeding expectations so there are some awesome years ahead of us. His most visible place this year may be returning kicks (very excited to see!!) but I'm with you guys, he'll have spot play and I bet there will be many pleasantly surprised!

Chavis doesn't compliment lightly or easily. He's a demanding taskmaster to say the least. Frank is a little more giving with the hype/compliments, but he's only gives them out where warranted. So this is not "hype", it's real observations. That has me even more pumped.
On that note, I've been watching real close what Chavis and Frank say as we get closer. I remember a couple of days before the Oregone game that Chavis said that was the fastest D he had ever seen and we see what happened that year. So far this year Chavis has complimented the DL as one of the best he's had and there's been some comments about the LB corp. We all know what Jefferson, Robinson, and White bring.

Let it be true that he is a playmaker like TM was on Defense. This is what has been missing from our Defense since TM left. The ability to make turnovers has been missing in the last few years.

It's a big if, but if this class can do 3 things:
1. Stay healthy
2. Stay out of trouble
3. Stick around
Then they may cement a legacy that will bolster the program for years in terms of prowess and recruiting.
