Kudos to Covington PD.

Cliffs:

1- Original call, wrong person arrested and charged.

2- Over the coming days / weeks the investigation reveals the true story.

3- Original person charges dropped, new person arrested.

Without a public freakout and jumping to conclusions, these things almost always follow this path.

It takes time for a proper investigation.

Example on how it's done correctly

I didn't see any of that in your link about DAs brother being arrested.

Really? How do you know that?

I don't get what you're saying?

Are you saying that things that at first appear one way, which turns out to be wrong, is not a correct way for things to unfold?

Well, that one link doesn't have the whole story.

The actual victim was originally charged because she was drunk, hysterical and assaulting a man.

Later, video evidence showed she was reacting to his sexual assault on her.

The link I posted is about the latter. Links to the former are all up in the latter if you are inclined to get the whole story.

There has been considerable outrage that the police and FBI have not released details of the incident, but as a prosecutor said this morning on CNN you typically DON'T do that if you're also seeking witnesses.... if they know some details in advance they're likely to make sure their own accounts jive.
