I like how the enemies look more alive and not content to just stand there looking at their feet for eternity until someone shows up.

I'm thinking that since I didn't like Dark Souls, I won't like this. They have some differences but not sure it's for me

Yeah, I like DS but the worlds feel so unlived in. I'd LOVE it for us to see a bit more of a living breathing world where not every NPC seems like their miserable all the time.

I never played either of the Dark Souls because I sold my PS3 before they came out. I loved Demon Souls though and this looks awesome. Need to go back and play Dark Souls, just don't want to play that kind of game on PC.

I tried Demon's Souls. I wanted to like it so much, but just didn't.

There's a reason they were miserable...
I do get what ya saying. I thought the world was amazing, personally, due to level design. The characters were all..eh..
Basically every npc in the game acts like they have early onset alzheimers. Kinda deprezsing.
Praise the sun.

Yeah, I know the reason. But I feel nothing for any of the characters in DSs and that's big in an RPG for me.

One issue was.. The story was not easily found. You really had to dig for it.
Solaire and the onion knight had really sad, involved questlines. But it involved me getting on you tube and shite to figure it all out.
The way dark souls gave lore was interesting. Possibly the most in depth rpg I've seen with lore but it's all completely fricking hidden unless you know what you are looking for.
Mizayaki is awesome though so I'm sure the Bloodborne world will be compelling

Dark Souls is supposed to be a lonely experience, but the NPCs that do inhabit the world are really memorable, even the ones that don't hold much importance. They honestly remind me of characters out of an Ingmar Bergman film - lost and looking for purpose.
It's true that they don't spew exposition, but you have to listen to all the dialogue they do have and read item descriptions. Even the moss merchant in the sewer is memorable to me.

Yeah she was a lonely ole gal wasn't she.
Even smough... The fat executioner.. had a good backstory.
One thing that blew my mind in ds...spoilers....
The boss under Anor Lando , gwendolyn, being "real" and the sun being fake. He's completely fricking hidden and optional, but a main component of the entire story. I'd wager most people would miss that on a casual 1 time play thru with no guides.

Yeah, I like how Anor Londo can go from the most beautiful and sunny area of the game to the most dark, creepy and desolate.
