Friday at 730 I have a table at Italian Barrel, they said we could either sit inside or outside. Since the weather is supposed to be nice.....well hot as balls, but no rain, would Bacchanal be a better option for a group of 6 and how much of a pain the arse is it to get a table there?

Bacchanal has many tables. I would try to get inside though.

I was there about 8:00 last Friday and it was warm outside.

yeah, it's supposed to be the hottest week of the summer with no chance of rain.....not sure if sitting outside would be such a good idea

Do yourself a favor, grab drinks at Bacchanal and try to get dinner after at Mariza in the Bywater.

I found one around 830 last week. But given the forecast, I see most trying to sit in the AC this weekend.

Wow what an asinine statement. Guess it's "hipster" to put out some of the best Italian food in the city and design a sharp-looking modern dining room. Maybe you'd be more comfortable with the fossils at Cafe Giovanni.

I'd only sit outside if there are fans and the sun has already gone down.

I like both. But I'm a drinker, so I'd stay on Frenchmen as long as possible.

I've never been to Italian Barrel so can't speak to their food or service, but Mariza is fantastic. If you go get the burrata and definitely a couple of the pastas then an entree. Salumi plate is great as well.

Sorry to hear that. I don't think they take reservations anyway. I called one time with a big top like you have and they did honor it, but not sure if they normally would.
