"no, child should hear things kids call her at school" Dad

I just cannot fathom, I feel bad for this girl that her parents are so shitty.

quote:

Our hearts break when Briana* cries as she tells Lisa that she gets called names and is picked on every day at school. She says she can’t take it. As a six grader and weighing 347 pounds, Briana is having trouble fitting in at school. Her excessive weight has made her a constant target for bullies.

Briana lives in Mississippi, the fattest state in the nation, where nearly 35% of the population is obese.

The family moved from Illinois to Mississippi when Briana was nine. She explained she used to play outdoors, ride her bike, was active with the Boys And Girls Club, and used to ran and play games like dodge ball. But in Mississippi she began to be increasingly inactive and that’s when her weight started getting out of control. It has more than doubled over the last three years.

She'll be lucky if she sees the age of 35.

I wanted to make a joke but the parent in me won't allow it.

I feel sorry for the young lady and her family.
Maybe they will get her some help.

you don't have to be Stephen Hawking to understand why fat people are fat.

Everyone who weighs more than they should knows why that is.

Child obesity is usually the parent's fault. Poor girl

giving into your 4 year old's demands for junk food is irresponsible parenting.

doing it to the point that your kid is 350 pounds is child abuse

I feel bad for the girl, she is still just a child. Not all her fault her parents have let this happen. Your child doesn't triple in weight without you noticing before it gets that bad. They should have been proactive lonnnnnnnnnggggg time ago. The mom isn't even trying to cook healthier foods and promote a more active lifestyle. Looks like the parents could benefit from changes themselves.

I do too, this isn't a fat shaming thread. This is shitty parent shaming thread.

I love to eat. I really do.

If you go to the supermarket the first week of the month you will see the same thing. A bunch of heavies pushing carts full of sugary fruit juices, hot pockets, spaghetti-o's, and frozen pizzas.

People have forgotten how to cook properly, not to mention portion size.

I truly believe some people have no idea how to cook healthy.
Too lazy and stupid to find out.

And she is 6th grade? Wow that is rough.

Remember when you were in middle school. How ruthlessly evil and brutal kids are back then. She is a very easy target for those kids.

The weight may be extreme, but the ignorance in grocery shopping and food is pretty common place these days I'd say because most people don't even cook, and when they do, the only way they know how is with lots and lots of fat or preservative laden shortcut nonsense.

Like it or not, this really is America, albeit a little more extreme, still our America we live in today. It's all around us.

This is strictly a failure of parenting.

Her parents should have their arse kicked. My wife's cousin has two obese girls and all they do is sit and eat. Piss poor parenting!
