Condensate pump for my downstairs AC is shitting the bed. Are they as simple as they look to replace? Line in, line out, and plug in?

If it's one of those all-in-one bricks then yes it is basically that simple though you might want to examine the exact cause of the failure.

Motor just sounds rough. It's about 9 years old and has survived a lightning strike. I just ordered the top seller on Amazon... reviews weren't great for the old one.

Clean it up and see if you can at least keep it as a spare. I had one go bad without notice in my attic...

Yeah, I'll hold onto it. Luckily it's in the basement, so not really hurting much.

So, I've found the root cause of the pump failure. Lots of back pressure on the line. It disappears into the basement ceiling, so I'm not sure where to look for the end. Would it tie into another drain line within the house or outside? It's raining, so I haven't been out to look yet.
