It's surreal that Vivian Malone's brother-in-law is being thrust into a flashpoint involving many of the same elements of her famous encounter 51 years ago - national guardsmen, state police, violence, racial tension, mistust, rioters, etc.

I say again: What right does the Federal Government have to get involved in state and local cases? I understand the "civil rights violation" angle, but surely there is a due process to determine if a civil rights violation took place, right?

Hopefully, Holder can use his street-cred to bring the temperature down in Ferguson a few degrees. I guarantee you that neither he nor Obama want this thing explode on their watch.

They just don't want the *blame* for this if it explodes on their watch. They'll want to lay it at the feet of anyone but themselves.
MO Gov. Jay Nixon better watch out for knives going into his back if this goes sideways.

I hope so to but he usually uses his street cred to pit one side against the other and galvanize the resolve of the opposing parties, so forgive me for being skeptical.
