Looks like Cooter Brown is adding a craft beer lineup.

nola

On Saturday, Aug. 30, Cooter Brown's will open the Snooty Cooter, a new back bar devoted to craft beer. The 20 rotating taps will pour brews from Stone, Green Flash, Lagunitas, Unibroue and Gnarly Barley. Tasting flights will be available. And after football season, four more craft beers on draft will be added to the Snooty Cooter lineup.

The Snooty Cooter will also stock craft beers and imports in bottles, including at least 25 different beers not currently available at Cooter Brown's.

Sounds promising. It will certainly make me more likely to catch a game there. Hope they are competively priced, their pretty damn high now.

Now if they upgrade their food they'll really have something.

I really like the sound of this, especially the idea of a tasting flight.
Not sure about using the term snooty cooter. That might cause an anti maven type to have a melt down.

About time. They've had the same tap list for Lord knows how long.

Why you not putting the real name in the title?

I happen to prefer Maven's Nest.

I rarely go to CB's but having some decent beers will allow me to stay on my side of town and not travel to Ave. Pub.

It's nice to see more and more of the craft beer scene traveling further uptown.

Well, which is it?

Cooter's has pretty mediocre to bad food. Yes, they can shuck oysters with the best of them. Outside of that it's disappointing.

As much business as Cooter's does, they could bring in a Ave. Pubesque chef and it would make a world of difference.

Stupid name. Why go right off the bat with a negative connotation?

Personally I don't go there b/c it is cramped and grimy feeling with low ceilings.

If they took their food and drink list and put it in some place nicer like Tracey's, I would frequent it for games.
