Anyone else experiencing Uverse outage during the day

Was off of work for a couple weeks ago staying home with the kids before they went back to school and from Sunday through Thursday the Uverse went out for at least a few hours each day. Usually from about 11am to 3pm but never during the evening. We have TV and internet through the broadband but still have a land line for the phone and all three would be out sometimes and others it would just be the TV and internet. Spent hours on the phone with AT&T and they replaced the router and sent a tech out to check the line. Line was okay and the problem seemed to be fixed. This past Saturday it went out again so I replaced the data cable with a cheap phone cord which worked okay. Had a short outage on Sunday morning but nothing the rest of the day. I've had Uverse for over 2 years with no problems until now and have been very happy with it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Only regularly.
Worst service I've ever had.

I was talking with one of our sales reps about this earlier. He mentioned having that issue with Uverse in Shreveport.

say it isn't so, sabi
of course no one is at my house during the day, so I can not say yes or no

I wonder what the issue could be. I live in Port Allen and they've been trimming trees around the power lines so my first thought was they damaged a phone line but the phone has been working most of the time.

Same here. If I hadn't been off that week I never would have known. I work downtown and go home for lunch quite a bit but even on the rare occasions I turn on the TV or use the computer it's always worked.

nope never had an issue
Wife is in sales, so she is occasionally home for lunch etc, and never had an issue to my knowledge.

Negative, ghost rider. At least not in the NOLA area IMO.

the only real issue I have(and it really isn't that bad of an issue, more of a pain in the arse) are the wireless boxes. they will on occasion lose the signal. not very often, maybe once every other month.

I've had both with no major complaints. If not for the hours of kid shows on the DVR I'd cut the cable and just do Netflix and Hulu. Wife prefers Cox because they have Hallmark where Uverse doesn't but that's no dealbreaker for me.

I just got a new wireless system, from U-Verse, last week and I have lost signal nearly every day since. The installer told me that my signal strength was almost perfect. It goes out in the afternoon.

I had outages when I first got it. It got progressively worse like it would be out for 24-48 hrs at a time. Didn't get fixed until they could make it out when I had an actual outage. since then no outages in over 3 yrs.

Was thinking about adding one wireless receiver but not so sure now!

For Internet? Don't use the shitty gateway AT&T provides as your router. Get your own router.
As for Cox vs. U-verse -- U-verse TV is better. Cox Internet is unquestionably better UNLESS you live in Austin and have Gigapower Uverse. This is assuming you get equal service reliability in your home.
If you have the knowledge and patience to make sure everything is set up as it should (and it almost always involves getting in touch with a higher tier technician), a majority of service issues will be limited to the hardware in the home -- bad or improperly configured modems and routers, poor client adapter performance/reception, etc.
In experiencing service from both companies, I got exactly the service that was advertised. Why? Because I am what these companies would call an insufferable customer. I understand precisely what performance I should be getting and why I wouldn't necessarily be getting that performance. I do not let the installers/techs leave until it's running properly, and that includes getting the advertised speed in a speed test within a 10% margin of error.

Thanks for the info on the router, I'll have to look into upgrading. We only have 2 TVs and one laptop getting service from the router but using a smart phone upstairs the signal strength does get low. I can say that I was impressed with the tech that did our initial installation. He had worked for Cox and must have thought I knew a lot more than I did because he went into the technical details of why he preferred AT&T over Cox.
