Leaving Dallas yesterday afternoon and needed a quick lunch so gave In-N-Out a try for the first time. What's the deal with this place? I've seen videos of people waiting in line for hours to get food there. Seemed like average fast food to me.

I like it. Would't wait in line.

I resemble that remark.

mostly just pacific coast hype, but it's a good fast food burger, they generally use local farms, and it is a lot cheaper than the other "gourmet" fast food burgers (see: Smashburger, 5 Guys, etc)

I've had it once and didn't know about "animal style" or any other ordering tricks when I went. Good for fast food but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

Very meh when I had it. It's an above average burger. "Animal" fries are just fries with 1000 island dressing on them. Also meh.

Place is very over rated.. I lived a block away from one in Arizona when I lived there and ate it a couple times then just stopped.

"Animal fries" are nothing to write home about... thats what someone thats only eaten there once or not at all says to sound cool.

it is good for a fasdt food burger, but nothing worth waiting for

Excellent place- love going there when I am in a city that has them.

Always get a 3x3 animal style with animal fries.

Much better than your typical McDonalds/BK/Wendy's.

But would I wait in line more than 5 minutes? Hell no.

I certainly agree that it was better than the normal fast food offerings but after all of the praise it receives I was a little underwhelmed.

Nailed it. Even locals (who have access all the time) will wait in line for it. Personally I won't go in there unless the parking lot looks empty...which is a very rare occasion.

It's pretty good for a cheap fast food burger and the secret menu adds to the hype. I wouldn't wait in line or go out of my way for it, though.

That said, Habit Burger out in California makes a better fast food burger imo.

Problem was you went in with the idea you should get magic in a burger.

All it should be is expecting a good burger with quality ingredients and above average customer service.

I wouldn't call it average personally.
