Would you cull this young buck? 3 on one side with just a spike on the other side.

On a side note I'm hoping to get this big cull out with my bow opening weekend.

Looks kind of young. Meats going to get tougher with age. Can't eat the horns.

I'll shoot a couple does for meat. I'm trying to somewhat manage this property for the future.

I'll be tickled to get the big cull buck out with my bow. He's a big bodied older looking deer. Would you cull the small buck in the first picture?

That's probably the older one's offspring & not sure if he'll ever get anything else. Kinda hard decision on him right now.

Exactly what I was thinking. If he comes out when I have my bow I'll probably put a rage to the cage, but I'll probably let him walk with my rifle. I may let my girlfriend shoot him if she gets the opportunity.

Cull, this deer looked very similar at 2.5 and we decided to give him another year and it was a mistake

Would not shoot buck #1. He's only 1.5 yr old and could easily be a nice buck in a couple of years. You really can't tell much at all about a deer during his first two sets of antlers. A fawn born a little later in the year than most will lag a bit behind, but quickly catch up by year 3 or 4.

Deer #2 has to be your call. He looks closer to 2 than 3 to me, but I don't know a what a typical 3yr old in your area looks like. If I had previous trail cam pics and knew him to be 3+, I'd def take him out. At only 2.5 - I'd probably give him a pass.

And then again, I have a real hard time passing any deer when they are broadside at 15yds with a bow in my hand.

He's obviously going to have assymmetry moving forward. Is he a cull? Only if you have a comprehensive management plan on a large piece of property or a high fenced operation.

If you dont have either of these things then culling accomplishes nothing. The decision really becomes do I want to shoot this deer?

He could look cool as hell in a year or two.

I'm only on 113 acres. That 2nd buck I feel is definitely older then 2. Did you look at the picture of him next to that 6 point? Look at the body size and color. I think he's a 3 year old and a for sure cull.

The 2nd pic isn't showing up for me on mobile, but the deer I see in 1,3,4 are culls IMO

Fixed the 2nd pic to see him next to another deer. Yeah millerman I'll trade hunts with you. I'll just shoot the bucks you want to cull if you want.
