The following occurred or took place:

- Madonna went on tour for first time
- Reagan began 2nd term
- Cold War was still on going
- Bo Jackson still had 2 hips (too soon?)
- No one had cell phones
- Internet was not being used by the public
- Original Back to the Future was just being released
- Magic Johnson didn't have HIV
- okietiger wasn't alive
- Atari was relevant
- Teddy Ruxpin was the hottest toy
- Michael Jackson looked like Michael Jackson (not like an old white lady as we would come to know him in later years)
- The Cosby Show ruled television sets
- Windows 1.0 was released
- Original Macintosh is released
- Original Nintendo is released
- Polaroid cameras were the hottest electronic on the market

Royals/Pirates World Series.

Lowest ratings ever.

But I'd love watching that series.

And the Rangers were total suckage.

(OK maybe some things haven't changed. But they had yet to make their first playoff appearance as a franchise.)

Crazy Royals have only made the playoffs 7 times.

They've only been around since 1969. Same number of playoff appearances as the Mets, more than the Rangers.

I didn't know that. I thought they'd been around since baseball had begun

Astros and Angels are the only expansion-era teams with more playoff appearances, 9.

Wasn't around to see the 1985 series so that should narrow it down for you

I already knew the answer based on how you conduct yourself on the MSB.

Also the (then Florida, now Miami) Marlins had not won either of their two World Series--because they weren't in existence.
