This is almost as absurd a question as Eli. It sucks that they'll both probably make it, and the Hall will continue to get watered down. Each of these guys are nice QBs. That's it.

He's a very good QB. People only bash him because of the Rapelsberger incident

Big Ben is 10x the football player Eli is the only point of comparison between them is their draft class.

And to answer the question Ben is clearly a HOFer

As of now? No, for a few reasons:

1) Strong misconception about the 05 Steelers defense carrying them to a Super Bowl, when Ben actually played lights out in all 3 playoff games before the Super Bowl

2) Off the field incidents, pretty self-explanatory

3) Lack of Peyton-Brady-like statistical seasons.

Manning will get in simply because of playing in NY and beating Brady in both SBs.

Big Ben needs another SB appearance to be in the conversation.

He's there historically, but I don't consider him to be a HOF player compared to the other great QBs. He's going to be outside the top 5 for his era

No for the same reasons as Eli. Very good QB, not elite.

His off the field issues hold no candle to LT or Michael Irvin

I think Ben's more likely than not but not on the first ballot.

The only quarterbacks currently playing that I think are definitely in are Brady, P. Manning, Brees and Rodgers.

Who cares about aggregate stats? Players' stats are only judged relative to their contemporary counterparts. This isn't a new concept.

Mike Vick's stats probably shite on Sammy Baugh's, but Baugh is one of the greatest QBs ever and Vick isn't, people generally understand why.

When Big Ben even sniffs one All-Pro Season, let me know.

Meh... Brady, Manning, Rodgers, and Brees wouldn't put up their numbers if they had Ben's OLine.

Seems like Ben has had a shitty OLine every year since they won it in 05 in Bettis' last season.

I'd say he needs to add to his resume.

There's a "too many Steelers" perception that keeps deserving players from the past (Donnie Shell and LC Greenwood) out and it applies to the modern era as well--Hines Ward and Jerome Bettis are going to have to wait.

Ben isn't perceived as elite, and he's going to have a difficult time competing with Brees/Brady/P. Manning and even Rodgers.
