Finally the BFPS F250 saga is over. That thing was a nightmare for 3 years.

New truck that I picked up from Houston yesterday:

It is an 04 with 102,000 miles. I need to:

Put a new exhaust manifold on the passenger side($45)
Get new shocks($306 for Bilsteins)
Level
Fix the 52gal fuel tank vent hose
Put the toolbox in it
Full floormats
Tint front windows
Adjust the speedo
Hardwire the V1
Install my laser jammer
Also have a Scanguage II sitting in a box somewhere that I will install

I am also gonna do a complete 100k tune-up

Here are more pics of it LINK

Very nice rig.

I like the color combo, and the interior is in great shape. It doesn't look at all like a 10 year old truck. I like the wheel/tire combo as well.

What rear axle ratio does it have? Mine would run 2,000 rpm at 70, 2500 rpm at 90.

What's up with the speedo?

I have an 04 and had to replace the instrument cluster because the gears on the inside are shite.

Good looking unit.

I have 216k on mine. Don't try to blow it up and it should last a long time.

That is actually the exact color I was looking for, and I was pretty surprised at how well it was taken care of. They put it online Thursday afternoon, I went there Friday and paid for it, and I flew in and picked it up yesterday.

I am probably gonna get a backup camera system that displays in the rear-view mirror and a radio that does bluetooth for my phone. I am also wanting to replace the sunvisors because they don't have mirrors and probably compound the headlights. Everything to do with this truck is enormously cheaper than the F250, and I can actually do it without taking the cab off. It makes me wonder why they don't make trucks like that anymore.

I haven't figured out the axle ratio, but the speedo is 7mph off at 80mph. I think the previous owner reprogrammed it opposite of the way it should've been. When it says 80, my GPS says 87

ETA: If yall have any other ideas on cheap mods, I'm all ears

The cheapest and best mod is leave the SOB like it is.

It almost definitely has 4.10's. I can't say I know of one older than about 08 with 3.73's

I planned on doing that with the tune-up. I think the idler arm needs replacing and the intermediate shaft needs greasing, but other than that, it feels fine. The shocks are almost completely done, so it rattled some stuff on the way home. I'm gonna check it all out when I put the new shocks and exhaust manifold on

Good job on getting a chevy! My brother in law has a f250 with the 6.0 that stays in the shop and it won't pull a paper bag.

On my trip to Houston, I saw two broken down 6.0 Fords, and one broken down 6.7 Ford. On my way back that afternoon, I saw one broken down 6.0 and one broken down 6.4. On my way back after I picked up the truck, I saw a broken down 6.4 and a broken down 6.7.

It is the Ford fanbois who are downvoting from the side of the road. So for basically 1000 miles of driving, I saw 7 broken down Ford diesel trucks, no broken down Chevy/GMC trucks, and no broken down Dodge trucks. That really speaks for itself. Looks like this guy actually knows what he is talking about LINK

I originally bought the F250 in August of 2010. I have owned it for 4 years exactly, and it was in the shop for just under 3 years. That is not a lie

I would use GM suspension parts.
Moog has went downhill the last year or two.

Sounds like triple the price. I pretty much drive mixed, but my on-road stuff is in New Orleans, so it needs to hold up
