Seems like now that most kids are not playing outside as much as when I was a kid that some kids do not know how to ride a bike without training wheels.

I was 6 when I learned, but my son is 3 and we taught him to ride a bike so that he can ride his MX.

It just shocks me that some kids are 10 or 11 and don't know how to ride a bike. I guess its just a different generation. I am 35 and its amazing how different things are now.

My son is 3 and rides a dirt bike too. Its fun to watch a kid that small be able to ride on one. He starts racing next month.

It's sad. Growing up in shenandoah anything i wanted to do was accessible by bike. I must have rode 25 miles a week, between going to friends houses and going to the movies.

I got both of my kids off of training wheels by 4. My son practically lives of the thing. My daughter doesn't ride unless she absolutely has to though. She can usually get me to take her wherever she wants.

I really don't exactly remember what age I was. I can remember doing it clearly in my head but I'm just not sure how old I was

This is a really funny story. When my youngest son was 3, I would get him home from daycare, start cooking supper. He would go across the street. They had about 4 boys that stair stepped in ages. I could watch him out the front window while cooking. He had a bike with training wheels. Well their oldest over there was about 6 and they took the training wheels off his bike. They have been working with their son without the training wheels.

Mine goes over there picks up the bike hops on and is gone. The rest of the week, they were working with their oldest hours upon hours. Both parents. I never showed him how to ride without training wheels. When he got back home, training wheels came off.

I dont know how old I was probably 3 or 4. I showed my son, daughter, neice, and 4 neighborhood kids how to ride without training wheels. Key is to take off the training wheels and the pedals. Put them on top of a slopped driveway, give them a geentl nudge and let them learn to balance first. When they get that down put the pedals on and away they go.

I was 5.. I've got two boys.. Oldest didn't learn until he was almost 8.. I consider it a personal failure and a shame on my family name.. We rectified that with his little brother who learned at 4.

5 years old. Busted my arse on my first go and got asphalt shoved up into my skint knee. Didn't give up and eventually became the neighborhood BMX kamikaze.

4. My parents said that I was too little to ride without training wheels and they were going back on the next day. Less than an hour later I was riding.
