The Good, the bad, and the ugly: blondie as the good

I'm re-watching it now. Love it and it's one of my favorite movies ever (also possibly best soundtrack ever).
Right now, I have a hard time seeing Blondie as a good guy. I know the movie frames him in such. But his actions certainly don't speak to such a declaration that he's good. His role starts out with him gunning down 3 bounty hunters in cold blood. Then, he threatens Tuco. Then he flat out betrays Tuco. Tuco is certainly not a good guy either, but he didn't start their feud. Blondie did when he got greedy. "I'm afraid you won't ever be worth more than 3000 dollars." So a part of me kinda sides with Tuco for seeking revenge. And then, after the location of the hill is dropped, he uses everyone in the movie he comes across. He's certainly a badass and a great character. I just have a hard time of seeing him as "the Good".

Every man has a good a bad and an ugly side. Some more than others

Lesser of three evils, bruh
"The worst of the good, the totally bad and the ugly" would be too long for a marquee

Lee Van Cleef was the good.

I've always thought this too, and it's why Tuco is my favorite one. I just figured the writers liked the idea of having the three guys labelled like this, and of the three of course Clint Eastwood will be the good.
