The fact that victor butler is as much a part of this defense as Archie Manning

Especially Senio. I would feel totally comfortable with him subbing for Grubbs.

This. He lays the wood and plays hard. He'll make the team for sure.

The sheer volume of penalties. 10 last week and 22 -- yes, 22 -- last night. Something is seriously amiss.

It's happening in every preseason game.If they keep this up, there won't be refs for the regular season...they'll all have Tommy John surgery.

I suspect the penalties will decrease throughout the league going forward. The first two weeks were overkill to get the point across about the new areas of emphasis. Goddell is fast becoming the dumbest commissioner in pro sports, but I think even he is intelligent enough to know that fans and players don't want to see games like last night. It was like a basketball game with a foul called every 30 seconds.

The guards looked pretty good. I mean, they messed up holding some of the blocks but they are matching the physicality of every D-line they've been up against so far. I wonder how they will do on inside running plays, most of the run plays have been to the outside so far.

I have never seen anything like last night.

28 penalties on us, 16 on them. 22 and 10 accepted. It was ridiculous.

Ingram and kelemete. I think sunseri brought some of that antler oil over from Bama and hooked those two up.

Very impressed. I was worried if something happened to Grubbs or Evans we would be screwed. Now, not so much. I think our back ups were quite capable. Factor in we had changeover at Center and played both pre-season games with Griffin and McCown and it makes the offensive line's performance even better.

Sunseri: Great game for him too. Is it just me or did he seem to captain the defense in the second half. If so, his football IQ may make him a keeper too. Thinking we may keep 5 safeties: Byrd, Vacarro, Bush for sure and 2 of the following three: Ball, Warren and/or Sunseri.

Really impressed with Griffin. Future looks bright. If something unimaginable happened, with him in I think we are still a 10 win team.

One might say he's a coach on the field. And did you see him lay the wood on Mett? Gym rat.

I'm also impressed with his counterpart, Marcus Ball. Heard a short interview with him. Very well spoken young man. Class act.

I am too, which makes it hard. I was pulling for Pierre Warren.

Just how effective the first string oline is at getting push in the running game even with some of the vets out. I'm extremely optimistic about our offense if we can do that in the regular season.
