Frequent Beachgoers...anyone know of a good alternate route through Mobile?

Do you know the name of the bridge?

Google maps keeps trying to direct me through the tunnel

Not leaving until tomorrow morning. Will hit Mobile about 11 a.m. So I'm sure it's a guaranteed clusterfrick

Coming back we took some back roads and found a way around, and ended up coming across the new bridge. I couldn't tell you how to do it again though, all I know is it knocked of a huge chunk of time.

Michigan Ave to Government St.

On the way back, jump off at that exit right before the long bridge, head straight, and then jump back on right before the tunnel.

I-10E to I-65N take Government street (exit 1) and turn right. This will take you downtown and directly into the Bankhead Tunnel. Then take the causeway across the Delta to Daphne and resume travels on I-10E

I-65 North to I-165 South, cross the Hwy 90 bridge. Follow the signs as soon as you turn north on 65. It will cross, go under the interstate, past the battleship, and back up on the interstate. Follow the same path back. 16 miles and change out of the way, and if its backed up, about 45 minutes faster.

Hazardous cargo exit. Just follow the road.
