The place itself felt crappy but the burger was fairly good.

Thought you'd wanna know.

It was definitely one of those times where everyone tells you to try something and how it's "sooo goooooood" and you just kind of know it won't be.

Also waited something like 25 minutes for a burger and fries. I think homeboy cooking could only handle one, single burger at a time.

Five Guys is what it is.

A decent burger place that probably was great when they had a few shops, it expanded, got way overpriced and is still a draw for people that don't know any better.

I like the burgers- they are good, but not great.

WAAAYYYY overpriced- $12 for a burger, small drink, and small fries? C'mon, man.

The fries are soggy. They give you a LOT, but you are also paying a lot for them (like $2.50 for a "small").

And totally agree about the time- it should not take them 5-7 minutes (or longer) to make me a burger and small fries when they arent very busy.

It's a place to go like 2 or 3 times a year.

EDIT: I have only been 3 times to the Carrollton location since it opened, and this is the only location I've been to in Louisiana (went a few times to one in Tampa a few years ago, but pretty much the same results).

That's how long it takes to make them juicy and well done.

Has anyone asked for crispy fries a la crispy fingers at Cane's?

I think that might make it a little better.

Call me weird, but I think 5 Guys has some of the best fries around. Eat one of their fries and then eat another fast food's fry, the authenticity of the 5 Guys fry will knock your left sock off.

I've had it 3 or 4 times. I've never craved it. There are so many places here in Baton Rouge that I get in the mood for and have to go get it eventually. Five Guys never crosses my mind. I liked it, but nothing to write home about.

Agree on the price, but it's actually nothing compared to other "burger bars" I've been to

Went to a new one in Dallas last month and a speciality burger and truffle fries was $20 with a water

It was orgasmic though

I drive by their "world headquarters" every Thursday and I can only think to myself what is so special about a greasy, unspiced, average burger that cost too much? The location by my house in Chester, VA closed a few years ago for a good reason...it sucked!
