I watched those live yesterday. Got me all jacked. A few notes:
1.) Mannaroth is fricking weak as far as daemon lords are concerned. Dude lays down so easily.
2.) Not a single non-orc character in the cinematic. I don't care about it, but there are going to be some pretty big pockets of fans that will be PISSED about that.
3.) "Lords of War: Part One" was fan-fricking-tastic. I am disappointed they said they will not be doing one for every warlord, but just a select few. That comic cartoon got me fricking pumped. irrationally pumped
4.) I was really hoping for 10/14. 11/13 cannot get here soon enough. period. I just put in my vacation time for that Thursday, Friday, and Monday.
WOW staaaaaaaacked, work fuuuuuuuucked.

I watched it live yesterday as well. Can. Not. Wait. Saving my vacation time for that week too. Master Chief collection releases 11.11.14. frick responsibilities.

I am using my vacation days that week also

I remember back in the early EQ days, people would take vacation for x-pac releases and then the servers/game would be down most of the day while Sony released a patch that fixed the patch that fixed the patch that fixed the game.

Planes of Power took a full week without end of my productivity from my employer. That expansion is the end all that I have compared all expansions from all games to, and nothing has lived up yet.
But that's another topic.

everyone knows WoW is a Horde game. The Alliance story is a fricking joke

It was Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, not Warcraft: Humans and Orcs.
But yeah, alliance get shafted and I couldn't give fewer fricks.

Yeah I'll be in fosho.

It's stupid shite that people think they should be considered special all the time.
WotLK was a very Alliance centric expansion story and lore wise focused on characters that had or still have a strong connection with Humans/Alliance: Bolvar Fordragon, Tirion Fordring, Arthas, etc.
The story doesn't need to be symmetrical at all times.
The orc focused expansion is mostly a side-story for the warcraft universe, and trying to bring people back to the game after the last 2 expansions were kind of disappointing. What better way to do it than to play on one of the more popular enemies from fantasy? It's obvious they're trying to bring us back to a more relateable humanoid type of threat because of how well received Illidan and Arthas were as villains.

Plus, I think the Cinematic was just introducing the Iron Horde anyways.

They really fricked up when they killed off every good enemy. They've basically ran out of decent story because everyone is dead. That being said, I'm a little sad I will miss this xpac, would much rather have experienced it as opposed to the last two piss poss poor expacs.

I'm actually happy with where they are going. My only disappointment is that they are putting the black prince story on the back burner a little bit. I think the Iron Horde should be story line 1a and the black prince's continued preparation for the Burning Legion invasion of Azeroth is 1b, but it sounds like they are just letting it sit. That being said, I am pretty sure that this expansion is the lead-in to the return of the legion in the next expansion. It really is a trip back to the roots, should be good. I'm pumped, but then again I'm a fanboy.

They really need to dedicate some time to exploring what is buried under trisfall glades. The random fae circle there is one of my favorite things in the game, I would love a heavy old gods expac stemming from that.
Unfortunately, I think wow probably only has one more, maybe two left in it. I will be surprised if destiny doesn't take a lot of subs, the 6 man raiding seems really accessible and sounds like it is to be very difficult.

why would Destiny take subs? They're very different games

They still have 7 million subs at the end of the 4th expansion, with a higher rate of re-subs... no way is there only one or two left. Especially since they've said they want a faster release schedule. They've also been talking about "WoW 2" being a possibility.

How many of these are gold bots?

They have lost like 4 million over the last 2 years. And, they have been saying they would pump faster releases since BC. I thought it would happen, then they left yet another year long raid at the end of an xpac. If they have taught us anything, it's that they will not speed up their development.

I think the MMO/Shooter Hybrid they are pushing with Destiny is probably the future. Nothing lasts forever, it was a fun ride, but it will be 12 years by next xpac and nothing lasts forever. Destiny offers the same difficulty and enveloping play style, loot chase, and most importantly raiding environment.

They are going to use the expansion to float the company along util the movie hits the theatres. They'll pick up a whole new generation of playerbase when that happens.
Us OGs will be telling the youngsters how we played when there was no PvP in game. Before the Scholo/Strat nurfbat, and remember the days of 7-10 days AV massacares and before killing the city kings/queens gave you a mount we use to do it for pride.
