Robin Williams was in the early stages of Parkinson’s Disease and had been battling depression and anxiety, his wife Susan Schneider revealed on Thursday.

“Robin’s sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety as well as early stages of Parkinson’s Disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly,” Schneider said in a new statement.

Exactly

He obviously did not want people to know...to the point that it may have had something to do with his suicide

She blabs to media less than week later

Poor form

He could have really helped and brought awareness (donations/charity work) to that cause.

Parkinson's already includes symptoms of anxiety and depression, so I'm sure it only made his worse. not everyone is hoping to be a role model when they can't even pick themselves up anymore so to speak

can't judge her. It's only been a few days. She's grasping at anything to explain it to herself and to others.

So is this the narrative the "he's selfish" crowd will cling to now?

And to some people, that's a huge burden to handle. Not everyone is designed to be a spokesperson.

Only been a few days but can take time for a sit down with CNN

Not like she confided in friend or family and it was leaked as anonymous source

Worked with people with parkinson's for a couple summers. It truly is a terrible disease and really forced me to put my life in perspective. Especially sad when it is early onset (Not that Williams' was) still sad either way.

Not being a role model though, I don't judge anyone for suicide, sometimes you feel like there is nothing left to learn or teach, and whatever is there maybe you don't care to know, I've been there.

I just think a lot of people would have paid attention to him.

Hmm. If he had Parkinson's, "hung self with belt" is far less likely to me than "beat self to death with buckle trying to hang self with belt".
