Robin Williams' wife said the late actor, who died of an apparent suicide on Monday, was in the early stages of Parkinson's disease. Williams’ wife, Susan Schneider, added that the actor, who was found in his northern California home, was not ready to share the fact that he was suffering from Parkinson's with the public.

Parkinson's is extremely rough. I had to watch my Great Aunt go through that until she passed. I don't think that this was a huge reason for his suicide though. He had way too many other things bringing him down

The guy was hit right and left with issues. I read the whole statement on the People site which also included suggested charities to which the family suggested donations be made in lieu of flowers.

He seemed to be hit very hard by his heart surgery. I can't imagine how it affected him to learn he had Parkinson's. It probably added to his anxiety and depression-- but no one will ever know for sure how much or if this is what sent him over the edge.

That helps explain his depression even more.

My grandfather passed from this about 10 years ago. It was awful.

That explains a lot actually. He didn't want to be remembered as a Parkinson's patient like Michael J Fox.

What?

Now he's remembered as the guy who hung himself with his belt.

Suicidal people are incapable of making rational decisions. It's a brain disease. Calling someone stupid for it is like calling someone stupid for having a fever.
