It is a cgc 9.0 and considered to be the finest copy of this historic issue. The owner has turned down an offer of $3 million so he obviously expects it to go higher than that.
who wants to go in on this together? probably shouldve asked the OT ballers.

I'd trade him for it. I got a bunch of Xmen he might like.

I would assume the reserve is set at $3M.

I can't imagine there are too many comic collectors who have 3 million to spend....but I bet there is enough to have a bidding war.
Curious to see what it goes for.

i mean previous ones have hit over a million, same with first appearance of spidey. people come out of the woodwork for this stuff.
all it takes is one guy who might not even be a collector but just loves Superman. Bryan Singer bought a copy for 1 million when he was directing Superman Returns.

It's not comic guys so much as it may be investors with the cash to buy it.

What do you do with a comic like that after you buy it? I'd hate to have to lock it in a vault like the current owner did

I have Rom Spaceknight #1 so I am quite satisfied with life.

I've got a feeling we're a year or so away from about 6 shitty Nic Cage films in a row.

he already owned the other 9.0 grade which sold for over 2 mill

I mean if you have the money it is a great investment. It will only go up in value.

It will be purchased and destroyed by the owner of the 8.0 copy.

I was given a copy of the first 20+ issues of The Amazing Spider-Man when I was 7 by unwitting family members. I tore through them and read them all while sipping diet coke in my moms ford escort.
Then I lost them all.
Then I lost them all.

I have a Spiderman #9 at 9.0
3 million is high for that book. There has to be another one somewhere. Until it's found though, happy bidding.
I hear Corey Feldman in my head saying, "that's a very serious book, man.."

The odds of a book that's that old, to survive like it has is quite amazing

I don't know the comic's pedigree, but I'm guessing that it entered the market in the 1960's and it's been cared for in the correct manner since then.
I doubt it would be the copy that was found as chair stuffing a few years back.

THIS is why you hate superhero movies.
You've got your very own super-villain origin story goin' there...

I wonder, sometimes, what my life had been like had I recognized the value of what I had at the time.
