...the dominant visual aspect of the story, however, has been the sight of overpowering police forces confronting unarmed protesters who are seen waving signs or just their hands.”

How did this happen?

Most police officers are good cops and good people. It is an unquestionably difficult job, especially in the current circumstances.

There is a systemic problem with today’s law enforcement.

Not surprisingly, big government has been at the heart of the problem. Washington has incentivized the militarization of local police precincts by using federal dollars to help municipal governments build what are essentially small armies—where police departments compete to acquire military gear that goes far beyond what most of Americans think of as law enforcement.

There you go big government progs (Reps and Dems)...reap what you sow.

He should be in Ferguson tonight with a bullhorn speaking about this.

Media might ignore it but it would go viral.

He's the best at saying the right things at the right time. God knows if he would actually follow through on any of this. Easy to sit back from an armchair and make statements.

Rand bringing the truth as always. The sad part is most of America is asleep at the wheel/in bed with big gov so the truth of the message is missed by many. Rand gobbling up more independent votes and chipping away at the black majority.

What would really rattle the Democrats would be if Rand went to St. Louis and made an appearance with the protesters.

He already has followed through on his talk about reforming the criminal justice system with an actual bill that he co-sponsored with Cory Booker.

That wouldn't rattle the Ds, but it would certainly chap the butts of many Rs. Remember he has to win the nomination, that would not help him there. It's good that he speaks out about this but he needs to act wisely or the true impact is lost. Just IMO.

I don't know if it would rattle the dems as much as it would leave the media in a quandry.
